This was in the Arabian Gulf, near Jana Island (20 nautical miles north of Jubail industrial city). In a site we call: Sabri reef. We're used to seeing whalesharks in that site every year between Aug. & Nov.
BTW, a baby whaleshark was spotted there last year.
