The result of my first & only trip to this place..
Looks like I'll be visiting it regularly from now on.

Tuwaig: A small mountain chain right in the middle of Arabia.

*** Edit:
I've just changed the image and replaced it with a better processed version.

Beautiful shot. Could I get the exif and technique used for capturing this and processing, if you don't mind? :)

Sure,

Unfortunantly, I lost my exif data during the process. So I'll give it to you the old fashion way :D

It was F2.8 @30 seconds. ISO 400.
Repeated about 190 times then stacked with a software called: startrails.

Foreground was lit in some of those exposures, I chose the best lighting among them and eliminated the rest. I also eliminated every shot that contained aircrafts.

Afterwards, it was just a regular process in PSCS3.

For more details, you can check my reply to kimber84 that I posted earlier.

I think I will download the star trails software. Everyone who shoots star trails seems to be using the software. I would take one extra long exposure for the whole scene but then that risks heating the sensor and stuffing my camera and a lot of noise I'm guessing. Thanks for the help!

There is another risk you will be taking when you shoot star trails in the old school way. Anything could happen during that extra long exposure. I had lots of variables that ruined my one-exposure shot; a car passed in front of me, someone decided to open my car doors and lights ruined everything, water condensed on the lens, someone passed in front of the camera with a cigarette in hand. Anything can happen, in the new digital way, you can dispose a photo that you don't need or even process it seperately before merging.

Hope you take some really good shots. :)

Yeah, I've tried shooting star trails once before with a single exposure from my girlfriends balcony, not the greatest thing I've done. Too much city lights and not enough stars, I need to find somewhere rural with a good foreground to compose my shot.

Thanks for the help :)

No problem.

BTW, stacking method in star trails photography is less prone to light noise. So you won't need to go too far from the city.
